Gotta Love Our Adorable Hawk Family Group Cut and Sew Handmade Ornaments and Instructions For Making Them

I can remember when I was a young girl running to show my mother my latest craft or sewing project. She would tell me it was wonderful or beautiful and I would leave with a big smile on my face. Sometimes she would point out a few things I could improve upon. It was never a criticism just a lesson in improving one's skill. Being the perfectionist that I am I would either take it apart and fix it or replace it with a brand new piece.

In thinking about teaching kids to sew I decided the best way would be by teaching them how to sew their own dolls.  So, I designed cut and sew dolls for the Hawk family and Sneaks family.

Cut and sew dolls are a great way to teach children how to sew and all our Hawk Family and Sneaks Family cut and sew dolls fabrics are available in our "It's Raining Doll Parties - Doll Parties Fabric Designs Collection" which is here.

Just follow the instructions below for finishing them one of two ways.  Have fun!

Penelope Pinhead Hawk - New Handmade Softie E-Pattern

The 5th oldest of the Hawk children is Penelope Pinhead Hawk and she is every bit as lovely as as she is a pinhead.  Common sense is not in her vocabulary.  She tries very hard to keep up with her older brothers and sisters but just can't keep up.  Truth be told she's rather be reading a fashion magazine than playing pranks on everyone.

Ditsy Daisy Hawk - New Handmade Softie Doll, E-Pattern

Ditsy Daisy Hawk is the 3rd oldest of the 11 children in the Hawk family and most assuredly the "ditsiest" of all the Hawk's eleven children. You can hardly blame her given she was born after the twins - Tom A. Hawk and Toni E. Hawk. Growing up just behind those mischievous two was anything but easy. For a long time she bore the brunt of their jokes.

Ditsy Daisy Hawk is an 8" squared bottomed self-standing wool felt softie doll. She has a 1/2 white felt and 1/2 dark purple felt body. Her face is outlined and embroidered and she has large satin stitched eyes. Her nose is pointy and embroidered as is her mouth, eyelashes and eyebrows. She has pink blushed cheeks.

Ditsy Daisy Hawk has a mass of burgundy hair along the side seams of her head with the back of her head left bald. She is wearing her favorite light purple felt shirt with matching felt collar and favorite light pink felt vest. A matching light pink felt bow looks wonderful under her chin.  She has four light pink bows in her hair.

Ditsy Daisy Hawk has had more than her fair share of pranks pulled on her by her older siblings and was ecstatic when she learned she was going to have a younger brother. Little did she know what a rascal he would be.

Each of the Hawk Family members have their own graphics which are included on their products gallery line,  cut and sew doll fabrics line, e-printables line, and custom fabric line.

The "Egg Muff" Hawk Family Has Grown

The "Egg Muff's" are a fun loving group of dolls that love to sneak around and maybe, every once in awhile, drop in unexpectedly.

Toni E. Hawk and her brother, Tom A. Hawk, are the most fun loving of the group. You might find them peeking around a corner, peeking over the windowsill, peeking through a keyhole in a door, or sneaking into your room. You just never know.

Sometimes you might just catch a glimpse of their eyes and hair as they try to sneak a peek. If you listen carefully, you might even hear them laughing, even chuckling away. Sometimes you might even catch them doing a little jig. You just never know what they may do.

They love to laugh. They love to have fun. But, most of all they love to play hide and peek! No, not hide and seek! Hide and peek!

Toni E. Hawk and Tom A. Hawk are twins. She might seem shy and well-mannered, but she is anything but. She is highly intelligent and loves a good joke. She isn't afraid of taking on her twin brother, Tom A. Hawk, or his best friend, Spike A Peek. In fact, Toni E. Hawk actually comes up with the best thought out practical jokes around which makes her just a little bit intimidating to the other member's of the Egg Muff Series. However, when everyone gets to laughing at Toni E. Hawk's latest gag everyone soon forgets how intimidated they are by her intelligence.

Tom A. Hawk is anything but shy and well-mannered. He, too, is highly intelligent and loves a good joke and isn't afraid of taking on his twin sister, Toni E. Hawk, or his best friend, Spike A Peek. Unlike his sister, however, his intelligence isn't intimidating at all. In fact, Tom A Hawk does an exceptional job of hiding his intelligence while showcasing his wit, his charm, and his good looks. The girls just can't resist a charming, good looking, bit of a devil in him type of guy with a tomahawk hairdo.

Spike A Peek is actually the most rambunctious of the Egg Muffs and, generally, the least level headed. He always lets the fun get the better of him and finds that, more often then not, he's in the "Muff House" (the Egg Muff Series version of a doghouse) being "muffed!" This is also known as a "time-out!" Spike A Peek doesn't use his "time-out" and being "muffed" wisely. He uses it as an opportunity to think up his next prank. The one he's going to play on Tom A. Hawk.

Nancy Dew Drop is actually the most well behaved of the Egg Muffs and, generally, the most level headed. Sometimes, even Nancy lets the fun get the better of her and you might just hear her giggling in the background. Just listen for a sweet "tee-hee-hee" and that will be Nancy Dew Drop.
